Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s visit to a mural portraying Diego Armando Maradona located in Naples’ city centre was not his only display of affection towards the club he has decided to swap for PSG.
After the initial signs of discontent dating back to last summer, the Georgian ace reiterated his will to leave the club, prompting Napoli to resume negotiations with the Ligue 1 giants, which resulted in a deal worth more than €70m.

However, the 23-year-old will preserve many fond memories from his stint with the Partenopei, having helped them secure their first Serie A title in 33 years in 2023 under Luciano Spalletti.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Kvaratskhelia removed the poster that was hung above his spot in Napoli’s locker room and took it with him, after having it signed by all his teammates.
Before leaving his side’s training ground, the forward also entered the room where Antonio Conte usually conducts video analysis to hug and thank everyone, giving them a last farewell.
Kvaratskhelia has scored 30 goals from 107 appearances across all competitions throughout his two-and-a-half-year stint at Napoli, who are now assessing his potential replacements, with Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United among their main target.
