A vital goal. France captain Kylian Mbappé moved to 19 World Cup goals after opening the scoring against Paraguay in the round of 16 on Saturday night.
The Real Madrid forward converted a 70th-minute penalty, won four minutes earlier by substitute Désiré Doué, wrong-footing Orlando Gill.
It was his seventh of the 2026 tournament, making him joint top scorer with Lionel Messi.
He remains second on the all-time World Cup list, one behind Messi, who opened the scoring on Friday against Cape Verde in a round of 32 match that finished 3-2 after extra time.
Mbappé’s World Cup haul stands at four in 2018 in Russia, eight in 2022 in Qatar, and seven so far in 2026.
