Kylian Mbappe joins Harry Kane at the top of the European Golden Boot rankings

Kylian Mbappe has moved level with Harry Kane at the top of the European Golden Boot standings with 21 goal this season.

Kylian Mbappe taken major step in the race for the European Golden Boot catching up with Harry Kane at the top of the scoring chart for the current season.

The Real Madrid forward scored twice against Villarreal on Saturday taking his total to 21 league goal. That puts him level with Kane who has also scored 21 time for Bayern Munich.

Mbappe’s strong display helped him overtake Erling Haaland who missed Manchester City’s win over Wolves and stayed on 20 goal.

Kane & Haaland miss chances to extend lead

While Mbappe adding to his tally, Kane was unable to score in Bayern’s surprise defeat to Augsburg meaning the England striker remained stuck on 21 goal.

Haaland also failed to improve his position after not featuring in City’s match allowing Mbappe to move ahead of him in the rankings.

The three star remain locked in tight battle, with only one goal separating first and third place.
