On the eve of facing Brazil in a friendly, Kylian Mbappé kept his counsel on the probable appointment of Zinédine Zidane to succeed Didier Deschamps.

This came at Wednesday’s pre-match press conference at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. Le Figaro reported this week that FFF president Philippe Diallo implicitly confirmed the choice, saying his decision had already been made.

Mbappé said he only learned of the president’s remarks on Monday evening and that he had not known beforehand.

He added that the players are not discussing the succession among themselves, noting that the debate will return and that after the World Cup there will be a new coach.
