La Liga clubs show interest in Toulouse’s Carles Martínez Novell | OneFootball

Toulouse FC coach Carles Martínez Novell is reportedly being closely monitored by La Liga clubs, according to L’Équipe.

With his contract running until next June, the 41-year-old Spanish tactician has seen his reputation soar since taking up his duties in 2023. This has not gone unnoticed by the Occitan club’s management, who have made the renewal of their leading man’s contract one of their priorities for the coming weeks.

Initially joining Philippe Montanier’s staff in December 2022, as assistant coach and head of methodology for the professional team, Martínez Novell was promoted to the latter’s position a few months later.

Eleventh in Ligue 1 and reaching the Round of 32 in the Europa League in his first season in charge of Les Violets, he finished his second campaign in tenth place. Currently eighth in the standings, one point away from qualifying for European competition, Téfécé are also still in contention in the Coupe de France, where they will travel to the Stade Vélodrome to take on Olympique de Marseille and attempt to reach the semi-finals of the competition.
