La Real begin pre-season with new signings involved | OneFootball

La Real began pre-season on grass at Zubieta after two days of testing, the ball rolling again on Z7. The women face Liga F, the Copa de la Reina, the Supercopa and the Women's Champions League this term.

According to Diario Vasco, the first on-pitch session was notable for new faces. Six signings trained, Sonya Keefe, Laura Camino, Ainhoa Marín, Ava Seelenfreund, Ainoa Campo and Esther Laborde.

Six B-team players also joined in, Maite Mendiburu, Iraia Soroa, Carlota Chacón, Ane Isasisasmendi, Nahia Azpirotz and Matilde Etxeberria. Lezeta continued her recovery with ball work and Molina followed a specific gym programme.

Smiles and a lively mood set the tone, after the customary first-day photos for recruits, B-team call-ups and the full squad. Arturo Ruiz kept up a steady stream of instructions as the warm-up mixed ball and non-ball drills before heavier work. The three goalkeepers trained separately on position-specific exercises.

Every newcomer was present, with Ava Seelenfreund, the last to arrive, fully involved. Aside from the two injured players, Ruiz has the rest of the squad available.

Preparation now brings high-level friendlies, starting against the Portuguese side Torreense on Friday 24 at Zubieta at 11.00. A trip to the reigning Champions League runners-up Olympique de Lyon follows on eight August, then to Tajonar to face Osasuna and Deportivo Alavés on 12 August in the Copa Sentimiento.
