LAFC is coming off a 4-1 aggregate victory to knock out reigning champions Cruz Azul. The Black and Gold secured the result with a 3-nil win at home in the first leg, featuring a brace from David Martínez and a goal from Son Heung-Min. The California side closed the series with a 1-1 draw in Mexico which saw Denis Bouanga score a penalty.

LAFC is set for its third appearance in the Semifinals, having advanced on both previous occasions. It will be the second time the U.S. club meets a Liga MX opponent in the semis after eliminating Club América 3-1 in a single match format in 2020.

Toluca returns to the Semifinals for the first time since 2014 and will be playing in the stage for a seventh time. Los Diablos Rojos have advancing four times, and been eliminated twice, in this stage of the tournament.

The reigning Liga MX champions arrive at the Semifinals after a 7-2 aggregate victory over LA Galaxy. Paulinho was in clinical form in the series, scoring a hat trick in the first leg and a brace in the second leg.

The goals raised the Portuguese forward’s tally to six this 2026 edition, tying Gabriel Pec in the race for the Top Scorer Award. With his six goals, Paulinho is now third among Toluca’s all-time scorers in the history of the Champions Cup.
