LaLiga says Eray Cömert corner-flag gesture caused tension and preceded object throwing | OneFootball

LaLiga said in a statement that its expanded complaint over Levante v Valencia highlights Eray Cömert's corner-flag gesture. It is described as preceding a clash between players.

The gesture was not included in the initial round of complaints from the last matchday. The update now adds it.

After the game Cömert approached the area containing part of Valencia's support, took a corner flag, placed his shirt over it and waved it like a banner. Objects were later thrown from the stands. The incident caused tension with home staff, players and supporters, and the National Police and security guards intervened to restore calm.

The Competition Committee has not initially addressed any of the incidents at the Ciutat de València. The officials' report did not list them because the refereeing team were already in their dressing room.

No sanction or opening of proceedings against Levante for the post-match object throwing has been notified. The case is not closed, and Competition may examine the derby matters, including Cömert's gesture, next week after the complaint's extension. The Anti-Violence Commission will meet again on 3 March.
