Barcelona and Real Madrid did not let up in the title race, Barça beating Mallorca 3-0 and Madrid winning 2-0 at Valencia. Atlético slipped, a 0-1 home defeat to Betis checking their faint hopes as Betis cling to Europa League places.

AS points out how the top-flight table would look without VAR after matchday 23, with the technology pivotal in several fixtures. It was decisive at the Metropolitano, where a Diego Llorente own goal was ruled out for offside interference by Antoine Griezmann. It also intervened in Celta-Osasuna, where Munuera kept a penalty for the hosts after judging no foul on Rubén García, and in Real Sociedad-Elche, where a Marín goal was chalked off for offside.
