Barcelona will face Getafe on Saturday without LAMINE YAMAL after a hamstring tear, with Hansi Flick urging the teenager to better read his body as they enter the run-in.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, in his absence Barça have recorded seven wins, three draws and one defeat, holding a nine-point lead ahead of Real Madrid’s trip to Betis on Friday. Kick-off against José Bordalás’s robust Getafe side is at 16:15.

Flick explained that Yamal felt something after a foul, believed it was minor and chose to take the penalty, which might have made it worse. He said it is the first muscle injury of the youngster’s career and that he must manage it and learn from it.

No recovery timeline has been set, and Yamal will follow conservative treatment without surgery. He should be ready for the World Cup. The tear is grade 2, with an expected absence of between one month and one and a half months, and Spain’s first match is on 15 June in North America.

Before the World Cup, Flick wants his side to close out the league despite injuries to Yamal and Raphinha and a dip from Robert Lewandowski. He called for unity, total commitment and a push to win all six, adding that Getafe will be tough but Barcelona have the quality to play very well.
