Just 18 years old, Lamine Yamal has already won three La Liga titles since making his first-team breakthrough at FC Barcelona, with the latest one getting added this past Sunday after the Catalans beat Real Madrid in El Clasico.
No player in the club’s history had ever achieved such a feat at such a young age, but the La Masia graduate, already known for breaking records early, has added another title to his growing collection.
However, three league titles, two Spanish Super Cups and a Copa del Rey are not enough for the teenager, as he made clear during the ongoing title bus parade.
During the parade, Lamine spoke to Barça’s media channels and thanked the supporters who packed the streets to celebrate the title.
“It’s incredible. They’re always with us, on the important days and also on the less important ones. This is the club of our lives. We’ll always be here for them. We love them,” said the Barça forward.
However, after stressing the importance of appreciating every trophy, he ended with a promise that immediately excited supporters.
“We have to value every title and every year that we win because it’s not easy. We’ve gone through some very difficult years, but now we’re enjoying ourselves a lot,” said Lamine.
“You think it’s a Monday, people in Barcelona have work, but they’re still here with us. A Champions League parade? Definitely yes,” he added.
After Barcelona’s elimination against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals earlier this season, the winger had already sent a message of belief:
“My parents taught me that a man always keeps his word… and we’ll bring it back to Barcelona.”
