Luis de la Fuente has kept the same XI that beat France 2-0 for Spain’s World Cup final against Argentina at MetLife Stadium in New York, kick-off 21:00 in France. There are no surprises.
As reported by L'Équipe, Fabian Ruiz again starts ahead of Pedri and partners captain Rodri in the double pivot. Lamine Yamal and Pedro Porro, both hurt against France, are also in the side.
Yamal had been rested on Thursday and wore a heavy bandage on his left thigh after Lucas Digne’s kick in the penalty incident. He trained at least partially on Friday and is fit to start.
Porro, who suffered a hamstring issue against France, keeps his place ahead of Marcos Llorente.
Spain XI: Simon - Porro, Cubarsi, Laporte, Cucurella - Rodri, Fabian Ruiz - Lamine Yamal, Olmo, Baena - Oyarzabal.
