Landeta joins Uriarte’s new Athletic board amid unopposed re-election bid | OneFootball

Jon Uriarte’s unopposed bid for re-election at Athletic has unveiled eight new directors, led by Javier Landeta, the former SD Leioa chief and Basque Football Federation president from 2021 to 2025.

As reported by as.com, the slate also features Asier Aurrekoetxea, Juan Alcíbar, Ana Calvo, Julen del Blanco, Eduardo Saiz, Nerea Campo and Eneritz Alonso.

Landeta is a former athlete and holds a mathematics degree from the University of the Basque Country.

The eight newcomers join 11 holdovers from the previous term out of the 14 who completed it, namely Nerea Ortiz, Jon Salinas, Xabi Álvarez, Guillermo Ruiz-Longarte, Ibon Naberan, Nacho Urigüen, Roque Echániz, Jon Ruigómez, Laura Ruiz de Azua, Goizalde Santamarina and Josetxu Urrutia.

With no challenger to his re-election, Uriarte’s refreshed board blends eight additions with the continuity of 11 returning members.
