Laporte returns to bolster Athletic for Mestalla Copa quarter-final | OneFootball

Laporte has passed a hamstring check and is in Athletic’s Copa quarter-final squad at Mestalla, two months after tearing his hamstring against Atlético in La Liga.

According to AS, Ernesto Valverde has named 23 players to face Valencia on Wednesday at 21:00.

His return comes amid defensive absences, with Vivian injured, Paredes suspended, Egiluz out and Yeray unavailable. Berenguer does not travel.

Nico Williams will test himself at Mestalla as he continues treatment for pubalgia. Valverde has promoted B-team centre-backs De Luis and Monreal and midfielder Eder García.

The travelling party will fly to Valencia at 10:30 on Wednesday, arriving around 12:15 at the Hotel Innside Valencia Oceanic.
