After stumbling in their opening match, Switzerland asserted their superiority in the group by defeating Bosnia & Herzegovina. The Swiss experienced moments of instability during the game but relied on the talent of young Johan Manzambi, who came on in the final stages and decided the 4-1 victory.

The three points earned put Murat Yakin's team at the top of Group B, with qualification practically secured. In the final round, the Swiss team will face Canada, while Bosnia, with one point, will play Qatar.

The first half was divided between hydration breaks. As the World Cup is becoming accustomed to, the briefing time changed the game's landscape.

Switzerland started better and suffocated Bosnia in the opening minutes. Although without creating many clear-cut chances, the team dominated possession and excelled on the left flank with Dan Ndoye.

The lack of efficiency, which also plagued the Swiss in their opening match, reappeared in the second game and almost proved costly.

After the hydration break, Bosnia corrected their defensive gaps and improved their attack. Led by Dzeko, starting for the first time, the Bosnians became a frequent presence near the Swiss area and also flirted with opening the scoring.

Despite each team having its good moment, the score remained unchanged in the first half, saving all the goals for the second half. After the break, Switzerland regained control of the match, but only managed to pull ahead when they looked to the substitutes' bench.

Johan Manzambi came off the bench in the 71st minute and changed the course of the game. The striker needed only three minutes on the field to anticipate the marking and unleash an unstoppable shot past Vasilj.

After relieving pressure on the Swiss team, Manzambi launched a fast break through the middle and was only stopped by Muharemovic at the edge of the area resulting in a foul and red card for the Bosnian.

With numerical superiority and an inspired striker, Switzerland took advantage to pull ahead. After a pass from Embolo, Rubén Vargas extended the lead.

The match turned into utter chaos in stoppage time and definitively fell apart for the Bosnians. In another play down the right flank, Manzambi established himself as the star of the match and scored the third goal.

Bosnia also used stoppage time to try and reduce the deficit and scored their consolation goal with a powerful shot from Ermin Mahmic.

However, Switzerland found the time and determination to turn the victory into a rout. After a penalty won by Akanji, Xhaka sealed the Swiss victory and put an end to the frantic stoppage time.
