It was an incredible match at the Allianz Stadium on the first day of the League Phase of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League, as the Juventus Men’s First Team and Borussia Dortmund drew 4-4 after a sensational comeback by the Bianconeri in the final minutes of stoppage time.

AN AGGRESSIVE START

The Bianconeri started the match with great determination and a desire to take control right from the start. In fact, it took only three minutes to create the first scoring opportunity, courtesy of Khephren Thuram.

The French midfielder received the ball in the attacking third from Andrea Cambiaso and took a shot directly at goal, but Gregor Kobel stretched to his right and diverted the ball out for a corner. Igor Tudor's team was dangerous again from the resulting corner, with Lloyd Kelly's header going high over the bar.

THE BIANCONERI KEEP PUSHING

Halfway through the first half, Lois Openda came close to scoring his first goal for Juventus, but his flying backheel from Kenan Yildiz's corner ended up in the side netting.

In the 25th minute, Bremer tried to conjure up some magic with a volley from outside the box, but his shot went just wide of Kobel's right post. Seven minutes later, Jonathan David tried to break the deadlock, but his attempt from the edge of the penalty area was deflected over the bar. The last chance of the first half fell to Openda, who forced the German goalkeeper into a save from a tight angle.

FOUR GOALS IN TWENTY MINUTES

The second half at the Allianz Stadium began with a shock. In the 52nd minute, Karim Adeyemi controlled the ball at the edge of the penalty area and put the German side ahead with a great shot.

Twelve minutes later, however, Yildiz stole the show once again, scoring the equaliser with a curling shot from outside the box. Just a few seconds after that, Felix Nmecha put the Black and Yellows back in front, but the frantic quarter of an hour wasn't over yet, as Yildiz came up with another piece of magic, this time with a perfect vertical assist for Dusan Vlahovic who finished superbly.

INCREDIBLE COMEBACK IN STOPPAGE TIME

The excitement wasn't over yet, as Borussia Dortmund scored in the 74th minute and then again in the 86th minute from a penalty kick, making it 3-2 and then 4-2 with goals from Yan Couto and Ramy Bensebaini.

The match seemed to be over, but Juventus showed enormous heart and staged a sensational comeback in stoppage time. Pierre Kalulu sparked the comeback with a cross, and Vlahovic grabbed his second, making it 3-4 in the 94th minute. The Allianz Stadium was in uproar, and it took only a few seconds for more drama to come.

Vlahovic cut in from the right to find Kelly, who dived to score the final goal and make it 4-4, ending an incredible Champions League opener for the Bianconeri.
