Liam Rosenior is back in his latest press conference, this time previewing the massive game against Man City on Sunday.

The Chelsea boss started off with some positive team news. It sounds like some of our key players will be back soon, potentially as soon as next week, while Sunday comes too soon for most of them.

“The positive is Estevao having 90 minutes against Port Vale,” Rosenior said.

“Trevoh [Chalobah] is working really hard and is back on the pitch, Levi [Colwill] still has a few hurdles to clear. Reece is running today. They are [all] not ready for Man City.”

Chelsea to face Man City without key defenders

Our assessment would be that Estevao is fit to start on Sunday – and may well do so after impressing against Port Vale. Chalobah sounds like he will not make it, but should be ready for next week’s game against Man U. James will be the same, or maybe given one extra week to be extra cautious, and Colwill will probably not see the pitch until May.

So it’s good news that so many of them are almost back – but bad news that none will be ready for Sunday.

In other news…

Chelsea are keeping an eye on Angelo Stiller, the Stuttgart midfielder who is starting to attract attention from around Europe.

Liam Delap has really struggled in his first season at Chelsea, and it’s no surprise to see the criticism mounting.
