Jamie Gittens has always been on Bayern Munich’s shortlist but a move to the Premier League and Chelsea is one he’s open to according to Bundesliga expert Christian Falk.

Chelsea made Liam Delap their first summer signing after agreeing a £30m deal with Ipswich, and more new faces are expected to follow the England under-21 international to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues face a critical window and could look to sign another striker, but are also in the market for a centre back and right footed attacker.

Jamie Gittens open to Chelsea move

There’s set to be plenty of movement in the wides areas this summer, with Chelsea said to be open to offers for Noni Madueke, whilst Jadon Sancho has left the club.

Estevao Willian will arrive after the Club World Cup, with Enzo Maresca said to want five wingers in his squad next season.

Gittens seems the most likely to arrive and Bundesliga expert Falk has shared some insight into the deal and Bayern Munich’s interest.

“Jamie Gittens has always been on the list at Bayern Munich,” Falk wrote in his CF Bayern Insider column.

“However, he didn’t have such a consistent season in 2024/25. So, the €65m asking price Dortmund are looking for – although it may be achievable for Premier League clubs – is too much for Bayern. Bayern need a player who is consistently playing at a very high level.

“So, Gittens wasn’t at the top of the shortlist. With that in mind, it wouldn’t be hard for the club to see Jamie Gittens move to the Premier League. Indeed, this is a move the England international has always signalled that he’s open to.

“With that in mind, Chelsea is a big option for Gittens, and I think this could be the logical next step.”

Chelsea could close deal for around £30m

Chelsea are said to be hopeful of closing a deal for around £30m plus bonuses for Gittens, but they need to sign him before June 10th if he’s to feature at the Club World Cup.

Gittens scored 12 goals last season and fits Chelsea’s recruitment model, whilst he’d also provide another exciting option on the wing.

Transfer expert Mark Brus of CaughtOffside said:

“Gittens is one name Chelsea are looking at, but we’ve also been informed by sources that Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho is still on their list of targets.

“The Argentine is proven in the Premier League, so might end up being the more tempting option for the Blues.

“Both Gittens and Garnacho are fine players, however, and would fit in well with the philosophy of signing elite young talents under Chelsea’s current ownership.”
