Foot Africa can confirm that Tanzanian giants Simba SC are interested in retaining midfielder Neo Maema beyond the ongoing 2025/26 campaign.
The 30-year-old attacker signed for the Reds of Msimbazi on a season-long loan from Betway Premiership heavyweights Mamelodi Sundowns in August 2025.
He left Masandawana in search of ample game time as he dropped down the pecking order upon the arrival of Portuguese mentor Miguel Cardoso at Chloorkop.
Maema has made 22 appearances across all competitions since joining the 22-time Tanzanian champions, scoring two goals with a solitary assist in the process.
With his loan deal at Simba set to lapse at the end of June 2026, Steve Barker's side is understood to be keen on triggering the buy option clause.
His experience in the CAF Champions League is deemed crucial as Simba are poised to seal a return to Africa's premier club competition next season.
However, sources have indicated that Maema has drawn interest in his native South Africa, with several Betway Premiership clubs monitoring his situation.
Sekhukhune United are among teams interested in Maema's services, offering the player multiple options to deliberate on before making a decision on his future.
