Lazio have reportedly joined the fray for Nicolo Fagioli who now finds himself an outcast at Thiago Motta’s court.
The 23-year-old is a Bianconeri youth product who became a fan favorite in Turin during his breakout campaign in 2022/23, before being slapped with an eight-month ban due to illegal betting last season.
The midfielder pounced back in style and even earned a call-up for Euro 2024, but after a promising start under Motta, he has been reduced to a mere benchwarmer recently, thus sparking exit talk. Juventus would be in favor of a sale that allows them to fund their January operations, which includes strengthening the backline and the attack.
According to Calciomercato.it journalist Riccardo Meloni, Lazio could be an option for Fagioli, even though Jacopo Fazzini remains the first option for the Aquile. The Empoli man was very close to finalizing his move to the Italian capital, but a disagreement between the two clubs over the formula and figures halted the operation.
As for Fagioli, Napoli remains a potential track, especially with the incoming cash injection from the possible sale of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain. The Juventus youth product’s value is estimated at €20-25 million, and his list of suitors could also include Roberto De Zerbi’s Olympique Marseille and a few Premier League sides.
