Lazio have reportedly added Dinamo Zagreb’s young midfielder Luka Stojkovic to their summer wishlist.
The Croatian player started his career at NK Naftas and then continued his formative years at Locomotive, before getting poached by Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2023 on a deal worth €3 million.
The 22-year-old enjoyed his big breakthrough this season, playing an integral role in the club’s triumphant campaign. Stojkovic made 42 appearances across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing his teammates with 12 assists. His exploits helped Dinamo win the domestic double, but he missed out on a spot in Zlatko Dalic’s World Cup squad after receiving a preliminary call-up.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Lazio are eyeing a move for Stojkovic, whose addition would allow Gennaro Gattuso to switch from Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 system to his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation. The Croatian primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but he can also feature on the wings. While the source doesn’t disclose any figures, Transfermarkt estimates the player’s value at €7 million.
In addition to Stojkovic, the Roman newspaper confirms that the Aquile are simultaneously working on signing another young attacking midfielder, Jonathan Asp Jensen, a 20-year-old Danish player owned by Bayern Munich.
Moreover, Stojkovic isn’t the only Dinamo Zagreb player targeted by Lazio, as the club has been tracking young Spanish defender Sergi Dominguez. The Barcelona youth product can be a natural replacement for his compatriot Mario Gila, who is heavily linked with a move to Napoli.
