Lazio’s organised fan groups will continue to boycott home matches and broaden their anti-Lotito protest with fresh measures.
The fan groups said in a statement on Friday that they would not purchase season tickets and would stay away from home games in Serie A and the Coppa Italia. They also urged the club not to use Curva Nord choreographies in season-ticket marketing.
Relations with club president Claudio Lotito have hit a low in his 22-year reign, with supporters urging the Italian senator to sell and accusing him of putting his interests first. They have avoided home fixtures since the end of January, bar a league match against AC Milan in March and last month’s Coppa Italia final against Inter.
Fans plan to follow the team away from Rome and attend every away fixture to back the players. They also intend to enter the stadium for both Derby della Capitale meetings with Roma, while welcoming the new coach and asking him to honour the badge.
Supporters will cancel and refuse to renew subscriptions to any paid platform broadcasting Lazio, aiming to make the scale of their discontent visible and felt economically. Home games will instead be watched collectively in bars, restaurants and pubs run by fellow Lazio fans.
They will boycott any business, sponsor or commercial partner tied to Lotito’s presidency, and will withhold votes from Forza Italia or candidates he supports. The groups argue Lotito has blurred his roles as club president and senator, dragging politics into the dispute.
