Lazio remain in the running for Ferencvaros midfielder Alex Toth, who has reportedly rejected the opportunity to sign for Bournemouth.

Lazio’s Midfield Shortlist

The Biancocelesti had identified the coveted 20-year-old as their favorite target to replace Matteo Guendouzi on the right side of Maurizio Sarri’s three-man midfield, with Quinten Timber and Giovanni Fabbian considered back-up options.

Bournemouth Usurped Lazio in Alex Toth Race

The Italian capital side had managed to reach an agreement with the youngster’s entourage on personal terms, but couldn’t strike a deal with Ferencvaros, which opened the door to Bournemouth to pounce on the situation. The English club managed to overtake Lazio by placing a higher bid. But according to Il Messaggero, the Cherries’ €15 million offer was still rejected by the Hungarian giants.

Bournemouth Deal Blow as Ferencvaros Rejected their Offer

As the Roman newspaper explains, Ferencvaros have decided to turn down the offer after learning that Toth has ‘bigger’ suitors on the market, which could drive his price further up. Although Lazio’s chances remain slight, this new development at least keeps their remaining hopes alive.

In the meantime, the Biancocelesti will be hoping to raise some cash by selling Reda Belahyane. The young Moroccan is considered surplus to requirements at Formello, and the Aquile are willing to cash in on his services for €10 million.

Reda Belahyane’s Suitors

The 21-year-old has been a target for Torino since the start of January. The Granata would offer him the opportunity to reunite with his former Hellas Verona and Lazio manager, Marco Baroni. But this week, Cremonese emerged as an alternative destination for the midfielder.
