Lazio are interested in Venezia goalkeeper Filip Stankovic, who would arrive as a replacement for the wantaway Christos Mandas.
The Greek goalkeeper was supposed to rotate with Ivan Provedel this season. However, Maurizio Sarri changed his mind and has yet to grant Mandas any playing time, 11 rounds into the season. Therefore, Lazio and the 23-year-old have reportedly decided to part ways in January, at least if they were to receive an appropriate offer that satisfies both parties.
According to Il Messaggero, Claudio Lotito would like to bring in Stankovic as a replacement for the Greece international. The Serbian goalkeeper is the eldest son of former Lazio midfielder Dejan Stankovic, adding a romantic facet to this potential acquisition.

Nevertheless, the 23-year-old’s last name isn’t the solitary reason behind the Aquile’s interest in his services. The Roma native has already made his mark on the senior level. The Inter Milan youth product joined Venezia on loan in the summer of 2024, and produced impressive displays in Serie A prior to his injury.
Despite spending the second half of the season on the sidelines, the Venetians were already convinced of his great promise. Therefore, they bought him on a permanent transfer last summer, although the Nerazzurri still retain a 50% sell-on fee.
However, the source admits that signing Stankovic in January won’t be an easy task for two main reasons. First, Venezia considers the Lazio target a long-term investment, hence why they armored him with a contract valid until June 2029. Moreover, the Lagunari have lost their other goalkeeper, Alessandro Plizarri, to injury, so they would certainly cling to the Serbian.
