Lazio are one of three Serie A clubs monitoring young Swedish winger Isak Bjerkebo, who currently plays at Sirius.
While we’re still waiting for the official announcement, the Biancocelesti have practically appointed Gennaro Gattuso as their new head coach. The Calabrian has already arrived at Formello and has made a series of phone calls with Lazio players to enquire about their availability and state of mind ahead next season, including Mattia Zaccagni.
The club captain reportedly had an offer from Olympique Marseille, but he reassured Gattuso of his desire to stay in the Italian capital. Nevertheless, the Calabrian manager still requested the arrival of a new left winger who can rotate with Zaccagni, especially following Pedro’s retirement and Daniel Maldini’s return to Atalanta.
According to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, Lazio could identify Bjerkebo as the right option for the role, but they’re facing local competition from Parma and Fiorentina.
Serie A clubs are also turning their attention to Isak Bjerkebo, the attacking winger of Sirius. Parma, along with Fiorentina and Lazio, are closely monitoring the progress of the 2003-born talent, who has scored nine goals in 10 league appearances this season.
The 23-year-old is a Malmö academy product who embarked on various experiences in Sweden, particularly at Kalmar, Skövde, and Varbergs, before returning to the top flight through the gates of Sirius in March 2025. This season, he has made 15 appearances across all competitions, contributing with 11 goals and six assists.
Bjerkebo is a right-footed winger who enjoys starting from the left before cutting to the center of the pitch. His contract with Sirius is valid until December 2029, and Transfermarkt estimates his value at €800,000.
Lazio have showcased their knack for poaching relatively unsung European talent by recruiting Danish defender Oliver Provstgaard in February 2025 and Polish midfielder Adrian Przyborek this winter.
