Lazio have reportedly been offered Feyenoord midfielder Ramiz Zerrouki, giving Gennaro Gattuso a potential extra option in central midfield.

La Lazio Siamo Noi reports that the 28-year-old has been put to the club via intermediaries among several proposals, and is viewed as a well-rounded holding midfielder with playmaking and defensive qualities.

Zerrouki is part of Algeria’s FIFA World Cup squad and has already made two appearances, one as a starter. His club future remains unresolved.

Amsterdam-born, he came through Ajax before joining FC Twente in 2016, stepping up to the first team in 2020. Feyenoord signed him in 2023 for €7 million, then loaned him back to Twente last summer, where he produced three goals and five assists in 35 appearances.

Lazio’s midfield could need reinforcement. Toma Basic has left for Venezia on a free, Reda Belahyane could also depart, and Danilo Cataldi is racing to be fit for the start of the season after groin surgery.

Gattuso plans a 4-2-3-1, with the identity of the attacking midfielder still unclear. If Zerrouki were to pair Nicolo Rovella in the double pivot, Kenneth Taylor could be used higher up.
