Lazio ‘pushing’ for Sergi Dominguez, not Diogo Leite | OneFootball

Lazio are working on a deal for Sergi Dominguez, but are not pressing ahead with Diogo Leite as they reshape their defence.

Sportitalia reports that personal terms are in place with the former Barcelona defender, yet Dinamo Zagreb want €12m and talks over the fee are proving difficult.

Lazio director Angelo Maria Fabiani travelled to Croatia earlier this week. An offer of a €3.5m loan with an €8m option to buy was rejected.

The club hope to step up negotiations with a fresh bid to persuade Dinamo Zagreb to sell the 21-year-old.

Leite, a free agent, was sounded out but talks are not being pursued at present. The Portugal international is said to have turned down a Saudi Pro League move today.

The overhaul follows the sales of Alessio Romagnoli to Al-Sadd and Mario Gila to Milan.
