Lazio face a season-ticket collapse as protests against owner Claudio Lotito bite, with most holders refusing to renew for 2026-27.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports that, in the window reserved for existing holders, a little over 2,000 renewed, a 93.3% non-renewal rate. The scale underlines a widening rift between stands and ownership.

Last summer, 29,918 supporters bought season tickets despite the absence of European football. Twelve months on, roughly 28,000 have so far declined to reclaim their seats. Recent seasons saw around 30,000, 26,193, 30,333, 29,036 and 29,918 subscribers.

An open sales phase runs until 20 August, yet a return to previous levels appears unlikely. This campaign could even approach the low of Lotito’s tenure, which began in 2004, when around 4,000 were sold in 2016 after Marcelo Bielsa’s aborted arrival and Simone Inzaghi’s promotion.

The protest intensified in the second half of last season, with silent boycotts at home matches, followed by a 2 July demonstration against the board and a fan assembly at Rome’s Teatro Manzoni. Organised groups urged fans not to renew and to back the team only away from home, casting the decision as an extreme yet affectionate act of dissent.

The impact could stretch beyond the atmosphere. A sparsely populated Olimpico would undermine predictable matchday and subscription income and weaken commercial appeal, with earlier reports suggesting potential losses of up to €20m if the boycott endures.
