Lazio shocked at Markmann refusal to complete €6m move from Nordsjaelland | OneFootball

Lazio had agreed a fee with Nordsjaelland for €6m plus bonus, but in a sensational twist, defender Noah Markmann turned down the move to the Stadio Olimpico.

It was a done deal between the clubs and the Aquile were preparing the schedule for his medical tests and contract signing.

They had shaken hands on a €6m fee plus €2m in add-ons for the Denmark Under-21 international.

However, Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia both confirm that Markmann torpedoed the entire transfer by refusing to join the Biancocelesti.

The 19-year-old feels he has better career options available to him and is not prepared to lock himself down to the Aquile.

Sportitalia transfer pundit Alfredo Pedullà notes that the player and his family wanted somewhere he could be guaranteed first team football.

That is not the case with Lazio, especially if Alessio Romagnoli remains after the failure of his move to Saudi Arabia.

Markmann is believed to have another two offers on the table, as well as the possibility of extending his current contract with Nordsjaelland.

There is interest from Trabzonspor and Premier League sides.
