Lazio are reshaping their squad, sealing the arrival of 2005-born goalkeeper Edoardo Motta from Reggiana and moving to add Daniel Maldini after medicals in Rome.

Goal reports that preliminary talks over a new contract for first-choice Ivan Provedel have begun. His deal runs to 2027, and the club want greater long-term stability in goal.

The trequartista is expected to sign after completing tests and is set to link up with Maurizio Sarri’s squad. Lazio hope to have him available as early as this week to add craft behind the forwards.

Motta has joined on a permanent basis and is considered one of Serie B’s more promising young keepers. He is known for his presence and comfort playing from the back, qualities the club value.

He is expected to become Provedel’s deputy once Christos Mandas completes an anticipated move to Bournemouth. Despite activity around him, Provedel remains central to the project and his stance has not changed amid outside interest.
