Lazio are progressing in talks with Bayern Munich for 20-year-old attacking midfielder Jonathan Asp Jensen, with the sell-on clause emerging as the key hurdle.
According to The Laziali, the clubs are closing in on an agreement, with Lazio expecting to pay between €3.5 million and €4 million, while Bayern want a substantial sell-on provision.
Lazio are willing to include a clause, but they want it below 50%, wary of the percentage accepted when signing Mario Gila from Real Madrid in 2022. Four years on, that decision could limit any profit if the Spaniard leaves.
The current stance is that Lazio do not plan to go beyond a 30% sell-on in negotiations with Bayern.
Asp Jensen, a Danish midfielder, joined Bayern in 2022 and spent this season on loan at Grasshoppers in Switzerland. He recorded nine goals and six assists in 40 appearances, form that has appealed to Lazio.
Whether the clubs can finalise terms in the coming days remains to be seen.
