Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani has indicated that Gila is not on the market amid interest from Napoli and other suitors.

According to Il Messaggero, Fabiani has said the club plan to keep the 25-year-old centre-back.

The Spaniard has been in Rome since joining from Real Madrid in summer 2022, and has emerged as one of Serie A’s standout defenders. His contract expires next year, weakening Lazio’s leverage over his future.

Napoli have been strongly linked in recent weeks and are trying to include Lorenzo Lucca in an exchange. Atalanta are also in the frame, but neither side has approached Claudio Lotito’s €30 million asking price.

The firm line could be viewed as a negotiating ploy, nudging Napoli and Atalanta to raise their bids or step away.

Lazio are reluctant to cut the fee because Real Madrid hold a 50% sell-on clause on any profit. Keeping him beyond the summer would effectively mean losing him for free in June 2027.
