Alan landed a winning treble last Saturday in his EFL column

Fresh from five single winners and a winning 6/1 multiple last Saturday, our EFL expert Alan Dudman previews the latest round of matches in League One and League Two...

League One Tips

Lincoln City v Stockport County: Lincoln to win @ 5/6

Lincoln moved four points clear of Cardiff on Tuesday with a 0-1 win at Exeter, but the Saturday win at Cardiff was potentially the killer move from Michael Skubala's men and the title is now in their hands.

In truth, they've been too good, too strong and too physical for most and they haven't conceded a goal in five matches.

Why are they 5/6 here? It's crazy price on form, as while the Hatters are chasing a play-off spot, they have lost their last two away and will be looking to avoid three in succession for the first time in the EFL since March 2011.

County also hold a dreadful record in this fixture - and have won just two of their last 17 away Football League games against Lincoln City (D7 L8), a run which has seen them fail to score on 10 separate occasions.

Wycombe Wanderers v Luton Town: Back Wycombe Match Odds 90 @ 5/6

Jack Wilshere, the young anointed torchbearer boss at Luton is struggling and their last League One victory was in early February - even the double zip top failed to sooth the ire of the Hatters in midweek drawing 1-1 with Doncaster.

Luton drop off and sit deep away from home and that Achilles' will be their downfall if Wycombe are anything like their best. Luton ended up clinging on at Doncaster, but it was a performance bereft of pomp and basic defending.

Wycombe have won each of their last four home league games and will be looking to win five in succession at Adams Park for the first time since November 2024 (six wins) and at 5/6 I do like opposing Luton away - so the method continues.

Doncaster Rovers v Blackpool: Back Doncaster Match Odds 90 mins @ 8/11

There was certainly enough in the Doncaster performance in midweek in the previous mentioned 1-1 with Luton to keep me interested as they did look the likeliest team to score in the second-half judging on the reaction and reports from the game.

This is more about the frailties of Blackpool - who have won just once since late January and have conceded a massive 33 away from home with an away xA figure of almost 1.70.

The Tangerines have been sucked into the relegation battle and Ian Evatt was fuming on Wednesday losing 4-1 at Wimbledon. He said: "We just didn't give ourselves a chance in the game. We got the goal, we were in the ascendancy and it was us trying to push.

"Then, when we are trying to open the game up in the last few minutes, we concede another awful goal from a wayward pass.

"Confidence goes, everything else goes and we end up conceding a fourth." With a game on Wednesday, Blackpool's preparations with a day less and back on the road, while fairly local, is far from ideal.

League Two Tips

Notts County v Chesterfield: Back Notts County to win @ 23/20

Much like my League One preference for opposing Luton away from home, Notts County are one for home bets.

The Magpies have won five of their last six home league games (L1), though did lose their most recent 1-0 against Grimsby. The Magpies haven't lost consecutive home matches since August 2025.

The loss to Grimsby saw Mariners execute a perfect game plan with a low-block, intend on frustrating, and County's usually reliable forwards couldn't find a way through. It was the first time they had failed to score at home since New Year's Day, and with Chesterfield in town, there should be more openings than the Grimsby match.

Many opponents try to implement the "10 men behind the ball" plan at Meadow Lane, some succeed, most fail, but I have faith in their attackers and with a recent 1-2 win at Walsall, Oliver Norburn showed how much he was missed in the Grimsby game with one of the goals, and he is crucial to that midfield ticking over.

Bromley v Bristol Rovers: Back Bromley to win @ 19/20

Saturday 15:00

Bromley are still top of League Two, but I have a habit of managed to find every single one of their non-winning performances.

Of late, for a potential champion anyway, they have drawn far too many games. It's five of their last six, and eight from 18 at home. But Bromley are still unbeaten at Hayes Lane, and Rovers could be tricky following an upturn in form.

Will Steve Evans pull off the miracle?

Bristol Rovers have lost each of their last six league games against London sides, their longest losing streak against London outfits since a seven-game run between 1981 and 1982. So history says Evans might have to wait.

Swindon Town v MK Dons: Back MK Dons to win @ 11/8

Saturday 15:00

Swindon earlier in the season were an exciting team. Goals at both ends, a manager loving life and promotion on the cards.

A little has changed in the last two months, as Ian Holloway gets angrier and angrier and the only plus point in the last five games in terms of a win was the 1-2 at Barnet - one win in five going into this Saturday.

MK Dons have a better xA away here than the host's xA with Paul Warne's team on 1.22 and they have as nine wins away compared to 10 at home with their last defeat on New Year's Day.

They absolutely ripped a woeful Gillingham to shred in midweek 1-5 and Aaron Collins, such a brilliant No10 at Bristol Rovers has been superb, adding goals to his game with several influential performances of late which is good to see after an injury-hit start to his campaign.
