Leeds loan Charlie Crew to Walsall for season | OneFootball

Leeds United have sanctioned a season-long loan for midfielder Charlie Crew to League Two Walsall for 2026/27.

The club said in a statement that the 20-year-old has joined in search of regular senior football and that they will monitor his progress closely.

It is his third temporary exit from the club. He helped Doncaster Rovers win promotion to League One during a six-month spell from January 2025, then returned there last summer. His second stint was disrupted by Wales under-21 duty, limiting him to 10 appearances before Doncaster ended the loan in January.

Crew later made a handful of outings for Leeds under-21s. He was included in Daniel Farke’s pre-season US tour, alongside fellow youngsters Alfie Cresswell and Rhys Chadwick, and came on late against Wrexham and Sunderland.

Across his two Doncaster loans he featured 24 times. He has one first-team appearance for Leeds and two senior caps for Wales, plus nine at under-21 level. Walsall, managed by former Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley goalkeeper Lee Grant, finished 13th in League Two last season.
