Leeds United have signed Tarik Muharemovic from Serie A side Sassuolo for £34m as they prepare for their second Premier League season back.

That picture carries particular focus on Leeds and Sunderland in light of last season’s respective finishes.

Muharemovic, a Bosnia and Herzegovina international centre-back, became the club’s second signing of the summer when unveiled on Friday afternoon.

The fee makes him United’s second most expensive recruit, behind the £35.5m paid for Georginio Rutter.

The move followed Harry Wilson’s arrival nine days earlier on a free transfer after his release by Fulham.
