Leeds United ‘appoint’ Cardiff analyst Matthew Jenkins to first-team role | OneFootball

Leeds United have added performance analyst Matthew Jenkins to their first-team staff ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

According to Wales Online, the former Cardiff City analyst has completed a move to Elland Road, and his LinkedIn profile lists him as first team performance analyst.

Jenkins spent eight years at Cardiff, starting in 2018 as under-23 performance analyst before becoming head first-team performance analyst last season. That campaign proved his final year with the Bluebirds.

He worked closely with head coach Brian Barry-Murphy as Cardiff finished second in League One, securing promotion to the Championship.

Barry-Murphy last summer hailed Jenkins’ work as exceptional, describing a long-serving colleague whose contribution had left him blown away.
