In a recent report, A Bola revealed that Leeds United are keeping a keen eye on Sporting CP midfielder Hidemasa Morita. It has been mentioned that the Whites are eyeing a move to bring the Japanese talent to Elland Road at the end of this season.

Morita is having an impressive campaign at the Portuguese club as he has put in a handful of solid performances for them in the middle of the park. The 30-year-old has found the back of the net once and earned five assists in 47 matches for Sporting this season in various competitions.

The Japanese sensation is currently among the most consistent midfielders in Liga Portugal. Hence, Leeds would do well to get a deal done for him this off-season.

His current deal at Sporting will run out at the end of this campaign, which could open the door for the Whites to sign him on a free transfer this year.

What Will Morita Bring To Leeds United?

Morita is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t hesitate to clear his lines when required and is a good passer of the ball as well.

The Japanese talent can shoot the ball with power from long range and is full of energy and running at the centre of the park. Morita is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also function as a defensive midfielder if told to do so by his manager. However, there are some question marks over whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if the Whites manage to get him on board this summer.

We can expect Morita to bring more quality and depth to Leeds boss Daniel Farke’s midfield department. He has what it takes to nail down a regular first-team spot at Elland Road next season.

At 30, Morita has still got a few good years left in him to play at his best. Hence, he would be a good option for the West Yorkshire club to consider in this upcoming transfer period.
