Leeds United have entered the conversation for Club Brugge striker Nicolò Tresoldi, although any deal already looks stacked against them. Transfer Feed claims Daniel Farke’s side admire the Germany Under-21 international, yet Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all appeared in the same transfer picture, while Roma have already tested Brugge’s resolve.

Leeds United face difficult Nicolò Tresoldi decision as interest grows

Tresoldi arrived from Hannover for around €7 million in July 2025 and exploded during his first season in Belgium. The 21-year-old scored 19 goals and supplied five assists in 40 Belgian Pro League appearances. He backed that up with three goals and one assist across 10 Champions League matches, finishing the campaign with 23 goals and nine assists in all competitions.

Transfer Feed adds that Roma saw a €35 million offer rejected. Club Brugge president Bart Verhaeghe has insisted the striker is staying, while reports place the asking price between €35 million and €40 million. Brugge even turned down a €15 million proposal from an unnamed German club earlier in 2026, despite Transfermarkt valuing him at €25 million.

Nobody questions Tresoldi’s talent. Those numbers deserve respect, especially considering this was his first campaign outside Germany. Scoring regularly in the Champions League only strengthens his growing reputation.

That still doesn’t make him the right signing for Leeds United. Farke has already handed Dominic Calvert-Lewin the responsibility of leading the attack, and his preferred shape depends on one central striker rather than rotating expensive forwards. Spending close to €40 million on a backup option would create an awkward imbalance across the squad.

Leeds United should keep their spending under control

This market has already become crowded. Manchester United, Chelsea and Roma can comfortably enter bidding contests at figures Leeds United simply shouldn’t entertain. Matching those clubs would place unnecessary pressure on a side still trying to strengthen other positions before the Premier League season begins.

T4O believes Leeds United should refuse to go beyond €22 million to €25 million, with performance-based add-ons carrying most of the risk. That’s a sensible valuation for a gifted 21-year-old who has produced one outstanding season in Belgium.

Paying €35 million or €40 million would represent a premium usually reserved for proven Champions League stars, while Leeds still need greater depth at full-back and in creative midfield. Tresoldi may develop into an elite striker one day, yet this particular deal asks Leeds United to spend like an established European heavyweight when the squad has far more pressing priorities.
