Leeds United confirm Isaac Schmidt exit as Young Boys deal agreed for about £two million | OneFootball

Leeds United have confirmed the permanent departure of full-back Isaac Schmidt to BSC Young Boys for an undisclosed fee, with yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk understanding it is about £two million.

The 26-year-old returns to Switzerland after limited opportunities under Daniel Farke, making only two starts. He totalled 14 appearances in all competitions during the Championship title-winning season.

Schmidt spent last season on loan at Werder Bremen, featuring 19 times, and the Bundesliga side opted against a permanent move.

Leeds originally signed him from St Gallen in a £2.5 million deal and will not book a loss on the defender.

As Schmidt leaves, centre-back Tarik Muharemovic is flying in today to undergo a medical and complete paperwork on a move to Leeds, as they put the finishing touches on their second summer arrival. The Whites agreed a £34 million deal with Sassuolo earlier this week, and he will replace Pascal Struijk, who joined Brighton for £20 million earlier this summer.
