Leeds United confirm Isaac Schmidt sale to Young Boys | OneFootball

Leeds United have confirmed full-back Isaac Schmidt has joined BSC Young Boys on a permanent deal, returning to Switzerland two years into his four-year contract. The fee is undisclosed, and yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk understands it is around two million pounds.

Schmidt made 14 appearances in all competitions during the club’s Championship title-winning campaign, registering only two starts under Daniel Farke.

He spent last season on loan at Werder Bremen, featuring 19 times, with the Bundesliga side opting against a permanent move.

Leeds have thanked the 26-year-old for his efforts and wished him well as he returns home.

As one defender departs, another is on the way. Sassuolo centre-back Tarik Muharemovic is flying in today to complete a medical and sign paperwork after a £34m agreement earlier this week, which would be the club’s second summer addition. He will replace Pascal Struijk, who joined Brighton earlier this summer for £20m.
