Leeds United are exploring a swap route for striker Jørgen Strand Larsen as they seek January solutions within strict PSR limits. According to Leeds Live, the club made an enquiry to Wolves this week and are considering player-plus-cash options.
Following promotion, Leeds spent heavily to fortify their squad and have already maxed out PSR for this season. That makes permanent additions difficult this month, so creative deals are being considered.
Wolves sit bottom of the Premier League on seven points. Strand Larsen, who nearly joined Newcastle last summer before a £60m valuation scuppered a move, now seems to be priced around £40m, with West Ham enquiring earlier in the month before backing away.
Joel Piroe is a candidate for inclusion. Signed in 2023, he hit four in the 6-0 promotion-clinching win over Stoke City but has struggled to impose himself in the top flight, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha limiting his impact.
Wilfried Gnonto has also been linked with a departure. He scored in the FA Cup win over Derby County yet has had few chances since trying to force a move in summer 2023, and was told by the national team he needed top flight football to make the Euros in 2024. He remains at Elland Road, looks set to leave, and could help unlock a swap.
A mooted package would value Piroe at £15m and Gnonto at £20m, a combined £35m, plus a £5m fee for Strand Larsen.
