Leeds United are exploring a move for Real Betis centre-back Natan, with Brentford and AS Roma also keen. According to Leedsunited.news, Spanish reports claim Leeds have made enquiries and believe their financial position leaves them well placed to compete.
Natan Bernardo de Souza, 25, is a left-footed Brazilian defender standing six ft two in who has impressed in La Liga. He has become one of the division’s most talked-about centre-backs.
He emerged at Flamengo and Red Bull Bragantino before joining Napoli in 2023. After showing promise in Serie A, he moved to Betis following a standout loan and was signed permanently.
Physically powerful and aggressive in one-on-ones, he suits high-press systems that ask defenders to cover space. Last season he registered 100 recoveries in La Liga, and left-footed centre-backs of his profile remain scarce.
Betis are managing tight finances after activating his permanent clause last year, and need capital gains this window to satisfy La Liga rules. They are open to a sale if their valuation is met, and could push for a fee near £38m with quick payment.
With Pascal Struijk expected to join Brighton for up to £20m, replacing the left side is a priority for Daniel Farke. Natan is calm under pressure and often passes at above 85 per cent, and 49ers Enterprises could use their muscle to try to beat rivals.
