Brentford, Everton, Leeds United, and Newcastle United have joined Hull City in the race for Norwich City defender Kellen Fisher

As Philippe Clement prepares for his first pre-season since taking charge at Norwich City in November 2025, the Belgian head coach will be aiming to continue the upward trajectory he set the Canaries on upon his arrival in the next campaign with some key additions and retaining their star assets.

Since Clement took charge of Norwich in November 2025 following the dismissal of Liam Manning, the Canaries have only been looking up.

The additions of Ali Ahmed, Mohamed Toure, and Sam Field in the January window under his watch each proved to be a masterstroke, with Field impressing so much that his loan deal has since become a permanent one from Queens Park Rangers.

He has been followed through the Carrow Road doors by both Andre Brooks and Bruno Alves, as Clement continues to stamp his authority on the Norwich squad.

Strengthening will be the only aim the former Rangers and Monaco boss will have this summer, as interest in star defender Kellen Fisher continues to persist; now, Hull City have been joined in the race by four fellow Premier League clubs for his signature, as per TEAMtalk.

Norwich has no intent of selling, but a deal could yet be struck for the right price, as FLW takes a look at how Fisher, who is capable of playing at either right-back or left-back to a very high level, would fit in at each linked club.

Brentford

Brentford have established themselves as a Premier League regular ever since promotion to the top flight in 2021, as the Bees narrowly missed out on a European place for the first time by the skin of their teeth last time around.

Michael Kayode remains the only obvious right-back candidate in their squad at the moment, and though the Italian has nailed down that position, an alternative ought to be on the cards.

Blackburn Rovers' Ryan Alebiosu has been linked, but with Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey having both struggled with injuries over recent years, an alternative at left-back may also be a good idea.

Fisher could step in at either role, with the 22-year-old excelling in defence despite his size, with 92 tackles and 257 defensive contributions across last campaign for the Canaries, as per FotMob.

Everton

Everton are contending with the departure of long-serving right-back Seamus Coleman, and with Scottish defender Nathan Patterson also looking likely to leave Merseyside this summer, a long-term replacement will be high on David Moyes' agenda.

Fisher ticks numerous boxes for the Toffees, as despite his age, he has made over a century of appearances for Norwich, such is his importance to the side.

With Vitaliy Mykolenko having no real competition at left-back either, Fisher could step in at either position with great effect, and could be an excellent long-term fix at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Hull City

Hull City were the first club to be linked with a move for Fisher, as Clement has dismissed any rumours of the Tigers having made a formal move this summer.

Following their unlikely promotion to the Premier League through the play-offs, Hull boss Sergej Jakirovic will be working closely with owner Acun Ilicali to rebuild the Tigers' squad, as an array of additions are expected on Humberside over the coming weeks.

Whether Fisher will be one of those at this stage remains to be seen, but as immediate competition for Lewie Coyle and Cody Drameh at right-back, as well as Ryan Giles and Matt Targett, Fisher would be an incredible addition this summer, and would slot right into the defence.

Leeds United

Leeds United, upon their return to the Premier League in 2025, switched to a system emphasising the importance of wing-backs under Daniel Farke, and found great success in doing so.

With Fisher being a more natural right-back rather than a wing-back, with his defensive capability making him stand out, unless Farke is to switch back to a back four on a more regular basis, it's unclear where the Englishman would fit in at Elland Road.

Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson have either wing-back side covered, with James Justin offering versatility in either position, as Fisher could make the move to West Yorkshire to challenge Justin for a role in Leeds' squad, especially with Sam Byram expected to depart.

Newcastle United

Tino Livramento has proven to be an excellent Premier League player, but his persistent injury problems have consistently put Newcastle in a position of bother.

Lewis Hall, if fit, has the left-back spot locked down, but with only Dan Burn as direct competition, another player who can cover either side to great effect ought to be high up on Howe's shopping list.
