Leeds United fans could face prosecution for homophobic chanting after the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, with the Metropolitan Police saying 14 arrests were made in and around the stadium.
Chelsea progressed thanks to an Enzo Fernandez first-half goal, with attendance announced at 82,542.
The fixture largely passed without incident, with arrests in or near the ground for offences including GBH, ABH, affray, assault on an emergency worker, common assault and tailgating.
In addition, 18 people were not detained but will be reported for consideration of prosecution for other offences, including 16 Leeds supporters who were seen and heard engaging in homophobic chanting.
The chant often referred to as rent boy is classed as a homophobic slur and a hate crime. The Crown Prosecution Service made its use a prosecutable offence in January 2022, and the FA set out in January 2023 its intention to pursue formal disciplinary action.
