Leeds United ‘have joined’ race for £33m World Cup defender Tarik Muharemovic | OneFootball

Leeds United are being linked with Bosnia and Herzegovina centre-back Tarik Muharemovic after a standout World Cup in which he helped his country reach the last 32.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Leeds have joined the race to sign the Sassuolo defender, with Sunderland and Bournemouth also interested and Juventus potentially involved in any agreement.

The 23-year-old left Juventus for Sassuolo in 2025 following a season on loan at the Serie A club. Juve are thought to hold a 50% sell-on clause that could shape any fee.

Leeds have had a quiet window so far as they gear up for their Premier League return next month.

Harry Wilson has become their first summer addition, joining on a free after his Fulham contract expired.

United currently have Joe Rodon, Jaka Bijol and Sebastian Bornauw as centre-back options, and it looks likely Daniel Farke will want reinforcements before the deadline. Whether that includes a move for Muharemovic remains to be seen.
