The 23-year-old signed for Manchester City from Burnley last summer, but saw his first-team football limited after the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain later in the same transfer window.

Trafford had come through the academy system at Manchester City and opted to re-sign for the Cityzens despite a rival bid fromNewcastle United.

He made only fourPremier League starts, though did feature prominently as City won the League Cup and FA Cup.

However, he is keen to leave the Etihad this summer in search of a first-choice role. According toThe Athletic, Trafford is 'leaning towards' a move to Leeds this summer, despite rival interest from former suitors Newcastle.

Daniel Farke is searching to bring in a new goalkeeper, following the exits of Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow to Arsenal and Manchester United respectively.

City signed Trafford for a fee of around £31m last summer and will expect to recoup that transfer fee. Trafford wants assurances over his first-team role as he looks to challenge Jordan Pickford to become England's number one goalkeeper.
