Leeds United player ratings as Calvert-Lewin and Aaronson inspire 4-2 comeback v Liverpool | OneFootball

Leeds United staged a stunning fightback to beat Liverpool 4-2 at Soldier Field in Chicago, having trailed 2-0 at half-time.

According to Leedsunited.news, the Premier League Summer Series stakes meant both sides could leave with silverware despite Leeds’ earlier loss to Wrexham.

Liverpool controlled the opening period. Luke Chambers and Florian Wirtz struck for Andoni Iraola’s side.

Daniel Farke’s half-time changes proved decisive. Brenden Aaronson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, on for their first pre-season outings, both scored to level it at 2-2, before Sean Longstaff bundled in a third.

In the final 10 minutes Calvert-Lewin added his second, finishing after another Ethan Ampadu throw-in, to seal it 4-2. Ampadu directly set up Aaronson and his long throws preceded two goals.

Leeds’ player ratings featured four ratings of nine out of 10, with Ampadu, Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin and Harry Wilson outstanding. Joe Rodon and Tarik Muharemovic earned eight, while goalkeeper Alex Cairns took six.

Sebastiaan Bornauw registered an assist after replacing Gabi Gudmundsson, who went off around 35 minutes following an early knock. Ao Tanaka worked tirelessly for a seven before being withdrawn at the break.

Anton Stach struggled and was hooked at half-time with a five, as were Dan James and Lukas Nmecha, both six, the latter outshone by Calvert-Lewin’s impact up front. Jayden Bogle and James Justin were given five and six respectively.
