Leeds United predicted XI v Liverpool as Calvert-Lewin nears return and youngster call | OneFootball

Leeds United conclude their American tour against Liverpool in Chicago on Sunday, and the predicted XI points to further tweaks after Sunderland.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke rotated on Thursday, handing £34m signing Tarik Muharemovic a debut alongside Joe Rodon, with Sebastiaan Bornauw also starting. Rodon captained the side as Ethan Ampadu was benched, while Jaka Bijol missed out with a knee knock.

Anton Stach also moved to the bench, with Ao Tanaka partnering Sean Lonsgstaff, flanked by wing-backs Jayden Bogle and the returning Gabi Gudmundsson. Gudmundsson was the latest World Cup player back, leaving only Brenden Aaronson and Noah Okafor yet to feature. Okafor had been given extended leave after Switzerland’s quarter-final run and would not play in America.

Sunday could offer a chance for Aaronson and perhaps no nine Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who returned to training on Tuesday after a minor pre-season setback that had stalled his individual programme.

With the pair absent against Sunderland, Lukas Nmecha led the line with Joel Piroe on the bench, supported by summer signing Harry Wilson and youngster Callum Mills.

The predicted XI has Alex Cairns in goal, unless a youngster is preferred, with Lucas Perri likely to depart if James Trafford arrives.

Bogle looks set to continue at right-back and Gudmundsson at left-back. Rodon is backed to start again, with Muharemovic pushing to partner him.

After a clean sheet in a back three, Farke might retain that shape, which could bring James Justin into centre-back, particularly with Bijol out.
