Leeds United chase a first pre-season win against Premier League rivals Sunderland in New Jersey tomorrow night after a 3-2 defeat to Wrexham, when Joel Piroe and Sean Longstaff scored for a much-changed side.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke could tweak his line-up at the Sports Illustrated Stadium, with World Cup breaks ending for some and new signings bedding in, while Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Dominic Calvert-Lewin remain concerns after missing Wrexham.

In goal, the situation may hinge on where things stand with James Trafford’s move to Leeds and Lucas Perri’s subsequent Torino switch. Alex Cairns, 33, could be the only senior option, though Rory Mahady might be considered, with Cairns the sensible pick.

At the back, James Justin built minutes last weekend and may fill in at centre-back with numbers light. Joe Rodon was below his best against Wrexham but played 90 minutes and could go again, while 19-year-old Alfie Cresswell is in line to start rather than risking Bornauw or Bijol. Tarik Muharemovic might be eased in from the bench if deemed ready.

On the right, Jayden Bogle impressed after a half-time introduction and should be close to starting, potentially dropping deeper if Farke opts for a back four. A first start is also on the cards for Harry Wilson.
