Leeds United extended their unbeaten run with a 1-1 draw at Sunderland, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin struck after half-time and Lucas Perri endured a testing afternoon.

Leeds arrived four matches unbeaten, having beaten Crystal Palace and Chelsea and drawn with Liverpool and Brentford. They shaded long spells of the first period but trailed 1-0 at the break, and Joe Rodon went off on 31 minutes after two heavy blows to his right ankle. Leedsunited.news notes that Brenden Aaronson led the ratings with 9/10 for his inch-perfect assist.

Calvert-Lewin levelled in the second half, his seventh in his last six, becoming the first Leeds player to score in six successive Premier League matches. Otherwise he was quiet.

Perri was given 5, almost conceding a penalty when confronting Bryan Brobbey and looking rooted as Simon Adingra scored. Jayden Bogle received 6, having given Adingra too much room for the opener.

Bijol impressed on 7, dominant in the air and alert to danger, with Pascal Struijk on 6 after adapting when Rodon departed. Gabi Gudmundsson, Ethan Ampadu and Anton Stach each earned 7, Stach influential with his delivery and involvement in the equaliser.

Noah Okafor got 7 after stretching Sunderland before switching wide, then made way for Nmecha on 73 minutes. Calvert-Lewin was marked 8 and was replaced by Gnonto on 86, while Rodon, rated 5, was forced off for Tanaka. This was Leeds’ final outing of the year.
